ATOLLVIC SHIPYARD JOINS SUPERYACHT INDUSTRY ELITE AT WORLD SUPERYACHT AWARDS
Representatives of Atollvic Shipyard attended and presented an award at the World Superyacht Awards 2010, on May 22 at London’s Guildhall, to joint winners Hanuman and Indio, in the Best Sailing Yacht in the 30m to 44m size range category, which they sponsored.
Atollvic, specialists in the construction, refit and repair of luxury sail and motor yachts, joined a prestigious list of sponsors associated with the fifth annual ceremony of the World Superyacht Awards – widely considered to be the industry’s most anticipated prize giving event and the social highlight of the superyacht calendar. The event celebrates the best in superyacht build and design, recognising the talents of industry professionals including builders, naval architects and designers and awarding the best yachts launched during the last 12 months. Five hundred of the industry’s finest gathered in the historic surrounds of the Great Hall of Guildhall for a gourmet banquet, followed by the awards presentation and later, the official Awards after-party. Diego Gomez, Commercial and Marketing Director, represented the yard. He said: “It was a pleasure to be able to attend and present an award to two very deserving winners.”
The Royal Huisman - built by Hanuman - is a stunning modern recreation of Tom Sopwith's fast and elegant J-Class America's Cup contender, Endeavour II. Indio, a high-tech, lightweight and high-performance 100-foot sloop was designed by German Frers and built by Wally Yachts.
