Atollvic Shipyard to collaborate with World-Renowned Naval Archichitects
Atollvic Shipyard, the superyacht construction and refit division of the 36-year-old Spanish Vicalsa Group of companies, is proudly partnering with one of the world’s leading yacht design studios, Dixon Yacht Design.
The collaboration is the result of a shared desire between the two leading companies to develop a revolutionary superyacht of steel construction – one designed to be suitable for independent around-the-world sailing. Atollvic, a specialist in the construction, refit and repair of luxury sail and motor yachts in steel and aluminium, will ultimately build the superyacht in steel at its Spanish shipyard in Vigo.
The concept, created by Dixon Yacht Design offers a fresh, new approach to cruising. The “hybrid” mini superyacht has been designed for long-term cruising and is a modern reinvention of the traditional motor sailor - rugged, yet stylish, with good performance under both power and sail. It is an expedition yacht with truly green credentials.
The vessel, Atollvic Adventure, is 24 metres in length and has a displacement of 62 tonnes, a draft of 3.5 metres and beam of 6.22 metres. It has been designed to accommodate its guests for long periods and accordingly design features have been added to ensure comfort and style as well as safety is maximised.
Dixon Yacht Design, which is based in Southampton, UK, has a rich heritage in naval architecture and has, over the past three decades, designed a diverse range of vessels ranging from 120 foot custom sailing yachts to 50 foot production motor yachts. The company has developed a world-wide reputation for developing yacht designs which translate an owner’s vision into a vessel which provides total satisfaction, both in form and function.
